Norfolk Pine Apartments | Koichi Takada | Australia
Project name: Norfolk Pine Apartments
Architect: Koichi Takada Architects
Project location: Polystage, Queensland, Australia
Its design was inspired by the local Norfolk pine trees. Designed to enjoy the 1,012 SQM waterfront site on Goodwin Terrace at the southern end of Burleigh Heads Beach, the north-facing 10-storey building offers 15 stunning apartments, two top-floor double-storey apartments with private rooftop pool, And impressive ground floor perks: year-round access to prime location amenities, including a gym, outdoor pool and sauna.
"Norfolk's sculptural facade references the inner workings of the Norfolk Pines, a natural icon of the Gold Coast region," Takada said. "Just as their pine cones protect their seeds from the elements and open in an ideal natural setting, Norfolk's buildings can be adapted to protect residents from natural disasters, or open to receive 300 days of subtropical sunshine and stunning natural surroundings."
